Took a quick weekend trip to one of the most picturesque towns in Antioquia - Jardín. The town itself isn't all too different from the majority of small towns in Antioquia but the surrounding scenery and climate set it apart. Nestled squarely in the coffee zone it is needless to say that the coffees there were amazing. The highlight, however, was waking up to the sound of running water and a host of different bird calls. #jardin #colombia #antioquia #coffee #relax #cathedral #thisisliving #nature #aussie
Was lucky enough to be able to watch El desfile de los sillateros on Sunday. An amazing event. Some of the silletas were carried by children and grandmas. I am sure some of them weighed upwards of 40kg. The artestry and skill involved in the production of the masterpieces is truly to be admired. So to is the strength and will to carry these cumbersome creations for kms upon kms. This is another must do in Colombia. #feriadelasflores #colombia #medellin #flowers #adventure #orgullosos #beauty #lovinglife #aussie #hashtag #bucketlist
Some quick snaps of some of the arrangements in the botanical gardin for Las feria de las flores in Medellín. Amazing artestry with flowers. #medellin #feriadelasflores #colombia #flowers #subparphotography #beautifulday
Got in a bit of light reading today in the antique section of the library at EAFIT University. Some of the books were over 350 years old. A great selection of books from cultural to physics. 😯😯😯
Spent an amzing couple of days in Guatapé. This is an area which was flooded to make anhydroelectric dam and an entire town was evacuated and relocated for it. The views were absolutely stunning and instagram resolutions just dont do them justice. If you are ever in Colombia this is a must do if you like a scenic view. #guatape #elpeñol #colombia #gringo #adventure #lovinglife #perfectweather #700stairs #serenity #buenavista
Yesterday I went for a tour in Comuna 13 with my main man JD. Comuna 13 is one of the most hard done by suburbs of Medellín in the post Escobar era. Looking at the area today you would never know what the place used to be like. It was a phenomenal, truly awe inspiring mix of beauty, ingenuety and feeling. All in a place that has dealt with such trauma and constant struggles. A true testamate to the human spirit and the will of the colombian people. If you are ever in Medellín do yourself a favor and check it out. #comuna13 #medellin #gringo #colombia #grafiti #nofilter #wanderlust #innovation #beauty #lovinglife #cheekybeer #buenavista
